Services
Filter cleaning and Sludge Measurement.
We will remove the filter and clean it in a separate container so that the sludge does not end up back in the tank or in an area where your kids and pets can track it into your house. We will then measure the sludge in the tank to let you know if pumping is necessary. At completion of this service a report will be written documenting filter condition and sludge level.
Sewer line inspections.
We will attempt to gain access to the sewer line. Once access is gained we will run the camera down the line checking the condition of the pipe and look for obstructions that could effect the flow within the pipe. We will use the camera to take pictures of the line and when completed a report will be generated with all the details of the inspection.
Complete septic system inspection.
We will locate the septic tank and open up the inlet and outlet ends of the tank. We will then run the camera into the house checking the condition of the line as well as looking for indicators or past or current concerns. We will then use the camera again, this time going down the outlet end of the tank to locate the distribution box. While locating the D-box we will be checking the condition of the pipe as well. While we have the tank open we will measure the sludge level inside the tank and let you know if pumping is required. Now that we’ve got the d-box located we will dig down to the d-box and open it up. Checking the condition of the d-box as well as the cover. We will use the camera again to get a look inside the disposal area to check the condition of the technology in the ground. Doing this gives us a great view from the inside of the system. We can see if there’s any root intrusion from nearby trees or plants. We can also see if there’s any settling of the technology that may limit it’s effectiveness. Once all this is done we will pick a location in the disposal area and do an excavation to see how the soils look and get an idea as to where in it’s life the disposal area is at. Once we have done This we will have a conversation with the client about our findings and recommendations and concerns. We will answer any questions at that time and then put everything back as neatly as possible. When this is completed a report will be created and emailed to the client.
(This is a generalized description of what we do. Depending on the exact specifics can effect what has to be done to provide the client with all the information they need.)
Effluent disposal area inspection port installation.
You’re probably wondering what is an effluent disposal area inspection port. An inspection port is a vertical pipe at least 4 inches in diameter that can be installed in your septic disposal area. These devices are really useful because, by looking into the inspection port, we can see the level of the wastewater in your “leach field”, and determine how well it is working. If the leach field is full and doesn’t go down, this can be a sign of failure or overloading.
